I’m an introvert by nature. When I originally conceived of the Life, Liberty, And Pursuit Of Happiness Project (LLPHP), I didn’t want the business to be about me at all. I wanted to be anonymous. How naive I was! That’s no way to build a business!
Regardless of the fact I’m an introvert, you likely won’t care about the LLPHP if you don’t know anything about me. Businesses run by some anonymous person aren’t very credible, are they?
So here I am. Sharing about me.
Formal Education
I started my formal education at Chemeketa Community College (CCC) in Salem, Oregon. After receiving my Associate of Arts, Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT), I transferred to Portland State University (PSU) and completed my Bachelor of Sciences in Social Sciences. Along with the Bachelor’s degree, I also earned a Certificate in Rural Social Services.
Experience
The first twenty years or so of my career were spent working for a company that provides group homes and other services for people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities. For several years, I worked directly with our clients. Then, I moved into the office, and the Human Resources Department. Over time, I became the company Safety Officer, which included being the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. My whole career was about people. Helping and Empowering people to live the best life they could. Hiring the right people. Training employees so they could be safe and keep our clients safe. Writing plans. Doing inspections. Dealing with OSHA. It was all about people in one way or another. Helping. Empowering. Keeping people healthy, happy, and safe.
Starting the LLPHP
A few years before I left the company I’d spent so much time working for, I decided I wanted to help more people, and over time, the idea for the LLPHP was born. After a couple years, I realised working a regular job and starting a company as big and impactful as I want the LLPHP to be was not working well. It was time for a change, and an exit.
I left my previous employer in December 2020. I taught a couple First Aid/CPR classes as an independent contractor. Those classes were going to be the accelerant I needed to build the LLPHP from a passion project into a real business. Then the plague hit. I had to pivot. I couldn’t teach in person classes anymore. Something had been missing from my plan. It was time to find out what it was. After some time, I found it: the key to truly helping and empowering people: Life Coaching.

Life Coaching
So far, I’ve completed certification courses through Transformation Academy in Goal Success Life Coaching, Happiness Life Coaching, Life Purpose Life Coaching, and Professional Life Coaching. These qualified me to be certified as a Master Life Coach. After receiving my certifications, I then found my own coach, developed my coaching program, and grew as a coach with the Academy of Professional Coaches.

I’m happy to offer Life Coaching in general. If I can help you build your best life, that’s what I want to do. If I can help you sustain and protect that life though, that’s even better. That’s why I’ve taken the knowledge and skills I developed in my previous employment and decided to pioneer the niche of Preparedness Coaching. Coaching is the central, foundational, and animating part of how I can achieve the mission of the LLPHP.
What else can I tell you? I’m a dad. Reading, writing, and enjoying good stories are some of my favorite ways to pass the time. However, time with friends is always time well spent. I’m generally a creative, multipassionate person, but my creativity is mostly in the written and spoken word. Physical media like sculpture, painting, and drawing, are not my thing. I have self-published a book of poetry on Amazon and have many more written works… in the works. If you’d like to check out my published works though, you can check out my Amazon authors page here.
