A Playlist For Life

|

A while back, I saw a meme on Facebook. The idea was that for those who use their phones as an alarm clock to change their alarm to a song that would help start their day off right. Perhaps a song that is empowering, a favourite, or high energy. Pro wrestlers are known for having a walk out song that plays when they walk to the ring. We can have a song that gets us in the right frame of mind, pumped up and ready for the day. Music is amazing. It can help change or set our frame of mind, bring back memories, and all kinds of things. Music can be an empowering personal playlist and soundtrack for building and living our best day, and our best life.

When I was younger, I regularly played volleyball with my friends, sometimes multiple times a week. Sometimes we would listen to music when we played. I had a playlist I’d listen to while I drove to where we played.

I DJ’d when I was younger as well. That meant putting together playlists and adjusting them as necessary.

Many mornings, I wake up with a song running through my head.

Even though I don’t play an instrument, write music, or anything like that, music is a big part of my life. It’s the same for many people. Music is an even bigger part of many people’s lives.

Certain songs can be immensely important in our lives, and more meaningful than words can say. Tori Amos’s Winter is one of the most important songs in the world to me. It has gotten me through extremely tough times.
