Many days there are far too many anniversaries, holidays, and observances to post about individually on social media, so in an effort to have more of them available, LLPHP is going to experiment with posting them daily. - World Humanitarian Day
- 1263: King James I of Aragon censored Hebrew writing
- 1793: A Yellow Fever epidemic in the US caused its first fatality. It lasted until November and killed around 5,000 people
- 1919: Afghanistan declared independence from the UK
- 1927: Metropolitan Sergius proclaimed the declaration of loyalty of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Soviet state
- 1955: Hurricane Diane hit the Northeastern US. It killed 200 people and was the first storm to cause a billion dollars in damage
- 1958: The NAACP Youth Council began sit-ins at Oklahoma City Lunch counters
- 1966: 2400 people were killed when an earthquake struck Varko, Turkey
- 1996: The major South African political parties began their submission to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)
- 2005: A series of strong storms lasheed Southern Ontario spawning several tornadoes as well as creating extreme flash flooding
- 2013: 91 people were killed by flooding across China
- 2018: Monsoon rains finally eased after flooding killed 350 people and put 200,000 people into relief camps
- 2018: Two earthquakes hit Lombok, Indonesia killing 14 people two weeks after previous earthquakes
- 2020: The largest flooding in 70 years near Chengdu, China caused the evacuations of 100,000 people
