1923: The KPD held struggle day against fascism in Germany
1932: US troops dispersed the last of the “Bonus Army” in Washington, DC
1967: A 6.5 earthquake struck Caracas, Venezuela causing severe damage
1968: The eruption of Mount Arenal in Costa Rica killed 80 people
1970: 6 days of race riots in Hartford, Connecticut began
1973: Greeks choose to be republic instead of a monarchy
1974: The Episcopal Church first ordained female priests
1988: The South African government banned the anti-apartheid film “Cry Freedom”
