  • Global Forgiveness Day
  • 1647: The people of Naples rose up against high prices and Spanish rule
  • 1753: The British Parliament granted Jews citizenship
  • 1801: Haiti declared independence
  • 1807: The First Treaty of Tilsit was signed by Napoleon I of France and Alexander I of Russia
  • 1838: The Central American Federation was dissolved
  • 1916: The New Zealand Labour party was formed
  • 1941: Nazis executed 5,000 Jews in Kovono, Lithuania
  • 1954: The TANU party (Tanganyika African National Union) was formed in Tanzania
  • 1973: 78 people drowned as flash flood swept a bus into a river in India
