On This Day: The 1386 Treaty of Windsor

On this day in 1386, 634 years ago, the Treaty of Windsor was signed. This treaty, between England and Portugal, helped cement John the First as King of Portugal, ending a period of interregnum, crisis, and war. The treaty was sealed by the marriage of King John the First to Philippa of Lancaster. Through this treaty, a mutual aid pact was established between the two nations.

Isn’t it amazing this treaty has lasted for 634 years‽ This Treaty is a great example of how agreements, contracts, and relationships can last if they are treated and honoured with respect. When we enter into contracts, or agreements, we do so for the mutual benefit of those involved. Shouldn’t we want those mutual benefits to endure?

What do you have in your life that has lasted a long time? Why has it lasted so long?

What is in your life that you want to last as long as possible? What are you doing to ensure it will be long lasting and resilient?
