- 1700: The Treaty of Constantinople was signed establishing peace after the Russo-Turkish war
- 1863: Civil War Anti-draft mobs lynched African Americans in NYC. About 1,000 people died
- 1919: Race riots occurred in Longview, Texas
- 1942: 5,000 Jews of Rovno, Polish Ukraine, were executed by Nazis
- 1942: The Nazi SS killed 1,500 Jews in Josefov, Poland
- 1949: Pope Pius XII excommunicated Communist Catholics
- 1967: Race riots broke out in Newark, New Jersey and 27 people were killed
