- Declaration of the Bab Day (Bahai Faith)
- Pentecost
- 1275: King Edward I of England ordered the cessation of persecution of French Jews
- 1420: Jews of Syria and Austria were expelled
- 1421: Jews of Austria were imprisoned & expelled
- 1568: The Netherlands declared independence from Spain
- 1903: The first direct primary election law in the US was adopted by Wisconsin
- 1958: Mao Zedong started the “Great Leap Forward” movement in China
- 1991: The US Supreme Court barred subsidized clinics from discussing abortion
- 1992: US President George H. W. Bush ordered the Coast Guard to intercept boats with Haitian refugees
- 2018: Hamburg, Germany became the first city to ban diesel cars on some roads
- 2019: More than 170 tornadoes were reported in a week in US states of Missouri, Oklahoma and Iowa killing seven and causing widespread damage
