The Entrepreneur Lifestyle

|

If you have followed the Life, Liberty, And Pursuit Of Happiness Project much, you’ve probably seen hashtags related to “entrepreneur” and “entrepreneurship” used in social media posts. Sometimes the posts aren’t related to starting or running a business. Dictionary.com’s first definition defines an entrepreneur as “a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.” Even though an enterprise, as used here, is usually or especially a business, it doesn’t have to be. One can live the entrepreneur lifestyle without being the founder or owner of a business. If you want to take ownership of your career, education, time, or life in general, you can and should live the entrepreneur lifestyle.

Empowerment, Ownership, And A Desire To Live Your Best Life

At the heart of entrepreneurship are empowerment, ownership, and a desire to live your best life. Often, this leads one to begin their own business. However, that is not a requirement.

Each person, especially one seeking to live the entrepreneur lifestyle, has to determine what living their best life means and find their own balance in life between work, relationships, friends, relaxation, etc. They also need to define what success means to them. Success can mean a certain amount of wealth, but it can mean other things as well. Success can mean work-life balance, happiness, or something else.

Empowerment is getting, receiving, and having the power, knowledge, tools, skills, abilities, wisdom, and means to achieve your definition of success.

Ownership comes by accepting that you are responsible for your own choices, empowerment, life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness (and success). Self-ownership does not mean you have to do everything all by yourself. There are likely people and organizations (the LLPHP for example) that are willing and able to help. This help can come through sharing and teaching the knowledge, tools, skills, and abilities one needs to be empowered.

Living The Entrepreneur Lifestyle

Together, empowerment, ownership, and a desire to live your best life are like the three legs of a three-legged stool, or like the three sides of a triangle. They support each other. The greater your desire, the more you will seek self-ownership and empowerment. The more you take ownership of yourself and your situation, the more you will seek empowerment and be able to fulfil your desires. Empowerment enables you to more effectively take ownership and achieve your desires.

Together empowerment, ownership, and a desire to live your best life create the entrepreneur lifestyle. The entrepreneurial spirit can be a benefit to us in almost every aspect of our lives. It must be a part of our whole lives if we truly want to cultivate and live the entrepreneur lifestyle and live our best lives.
