• 1924: Benito Mussolini disallowed non-fascist work unions
• 1939: 30,000 people were killed by an earthquake in Concepcion, Chile
• 1948: The Dutch Liberal Party, the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), was formed
• 1964: The 24th Amendment to US Constitution went into effect stating voting rights could not be denied due to tax debt
