- 1925: Tornadoes ravaged Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee killing 689
- 1953: An Earthquake struck Western Turkey killing 250
- 1971: 200 died in a landslide into Lake Yanahuani, Chungar, Peru
- 2005: Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube was removed at the request of her husband in a high profile, landmark case
